D-Day - 80th Anniversary

On June 6, 1944, the world witnessed one of the most significant military operations in history: D-Day. Marking its 80th anniversary, we honour the courage, sacrifice, and determination of the Allied forces who stormed the beaches of Normandy. This pivotal day in World War II saw over 156,000 troops from the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and other Allied nations launch a massive assault on occupied France. The landings marked the beginning of the end of the war in Europe, as brave soldiers, sailors, and airmen fought through formidable defences to establish a foothold on the continent. Their valour and tenacity helped turn the tide of the war, leading to the liberation of Western Europe from Nazi tyranny.
